Last weekend (8-10^th May) several adult youth leaders for all over the diocese gathered at The Briars for a weekend of training and resourcing in youth ministry. Coming from as far afield as Scunthorpe, Buxton, Leicester and other far-flung corners of the diocese, they took part in workshops on Confirmation Catechesis, Safeguarding, leading prayer with young people ……… Led by Father Joe, the input was given by The Briars and reach4 teams, Hannah, Tom and Kelly at the Youth Service, Paula Bailey from the Education Service and John Creedon, our Diocesan Safeguarding Coordinator. Comments from evaluations included ‘thought provoking’, ‘encouraging’, ‘great fun’ and ‘this was a really valuable weekend’. It is hoped to make it an annual event so look out for next year!
