Last weekend, the Briars team, along with about 100 other adults were commissioned as Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion. They join about 2000 people across the diocese who help out in our parishes and schools with the distribution of Holy Communion. The commissioning Mass was held in St Barnabas Cathedral, Nottingham and presided over by Bishop Malcolm. It was, as always, a great celebration and the photographs here show the team wearing their newly-presented scapulars, the badge of office of the ministers.
The eagle eyed amongst you will notice that Gabie is missing. Because of a family wedding in Ireland, she wasn’t able to be at the Cathedral so was commissioned during Mass at the Briars the following week, in the presence of her old school’s Year 12 who were up on a week’s retreat.
