It was brilliant having my old primary school up on retreat, especially as I’ve not been back there in so long! It was lovely seeing all my old teachers and some new ones too. You guys were so lovely as a big group, just getting on so well with the team and everyone else. Your role plays in your leavers mass are certainly ones I won’t forget soon – they were brilliant!! Your leavers mass was just lovely, it was a real honour to be able to host it here at the Briars. I wish you the best of luck for secondary school next year, wherever you go!

You guys were so friendly, and just a great laugh. It was a pleasure having you to stay at the Briars, and I only wished I could have had a small group!! You were so polite at meal times, seemed to get on so well with each other, and so easy to talk to. You really made this place feel like a home, and I can only hope you enjoyed your stay too. Good luck with secondary school, I’ve no doubt it’ll be fine.

Holy Spirit Confirmation Group

I absolutely loved my small group this weekend! You were so friendly, so easy to get on with and just generally brilliant people! You threw yourself into everything we did, even on the first night when we made our meal and table! There was some amazing ideas there, my favourite being lasagne to represent God – cheese, meat and pasta as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Absolutely brilliant! It was great getting to know some of you better on the walk we did, you’re so easy to have a laugh with and you get along with each other so well! My only regret is that you couldn’t have stayed longer, but I wish you all the best for your confirmation on Tuesday. Enjoy!

You were definitely a group that was always cheerful, forever laughing and smiling, especially in my small group! You got on with everything so well, trying your best and just having fun – I really enjoyed our circus game evening on the first night, though your jokes were rather lacking! I hope you all enjoyed your week at the Briars because it was a pleasure having you on retreat. I wish you the best of luck with year 7, and I have no doubt you’ll be fine, just remember to look up .

This has been an absolutely brilliant week, just so much fun. You get on with each other so well and that was lovely to see, especially in small groups! My small group, the God Squad, was hilarious, full of laughter and fun, and working with you was a pleasure. I really enjoyed mealtimes as you were all so willing to help, and the conversations were never boring! Working in the field with Mike Pilling for Focus was certainly challenging but you met it head on and made it a lot of fun, and a lot of the time, made it look really easy! You met everything we did with enthusiasm and energy, and that is what helped make this week so brilliant and totally unforgettable! I wish you all the best with next year and your GCSE’s. thanks for an amazing week.

This has been a great week! Non stop the whole time!! Focus was great fun, and I especially loved the in day with our water themed games! You were all though much fun and a great laugh. This weekend we’ve not stopped, it’s been go go go!!! It’s been great to see how you all just got on with everything, and how both schools got on so well! The football on the first evening was disappointing, but the rest of the weekend certainly wasn’t! It was so much fun and so easy for the Team, and I only wish I could have been there for all of it!! This has been a great week. Filled with fun and some great memories! I’ve loved every minute of it. From Focus in the field and on the climbing wall, to the Heights of Abraham, it’s all been so enjoyable!! Everything we’ve done, you made so great by just getting stuck in and involved. You tried you best in everything, and I really loved the energy and enthusiasm, yes and the volume of my small group. I hope you all loved the Quiz night as much as I did! I especially loved the penalty shoot out!! I’d like to thank you all for a fantastic week and wish you the best of luck with year 7 next year.

Our Lady’s Convent and St Benedicts Yr7,8,9

This has been a nice relaxed and chilled out, and I really loved having the chance to catch some football!! I loved all the games and challenges on the first evening, you were all so enthusiastic and gave everything your best shot, even if some of the games seemed impossible!! On Saturday I really enjoyed the chance to get to know my group better with our sharing sheet, and the day just got better as the walk was lovely and the weather great and the only thing that let us down was the football. The disco was great, you made it amazing! It was lovely on Sunday to see you all so happy with your affirmations and you should all be really proud of writing them for each other! Thanks for a great week end and good luck to all of you in the future!
