Dave

DaveHello everyone,

My name is Dave, and I am 18 years old and from the wonderful city of Derby. I was in fact born in Leeds and only moved to Derby in 2002, I went to St Benedict’s in Derby for Secondary School and Sixth Form and loved it! My family tend to move about a bit, and I have also lived in London, Leeds & York. I have a pretty big family, it gets a bit crazy around Christmas time, but it’s great to have everyone at home. There is my Mum; (Keyna) and my Dad (Mike), I then have two older sisters, Liz and Cath and I also have an older brother; Chris, then it’s me, and my little sister Abigail.

I love sports, especially football and cricket, and it takes up most of my spare time. I support two teams (long story..), Newcastle and Derby. The reason behind this is that all my family are from Newcastle and influenced my decision from an early age! Nowadays, my allegiance lies with Derby, due to me being a season ticket holder for the last 5 years, but I had to give it up this year! So when you are up come and have a chat about football with me!

Music is a massive part of my life, it has been ever since the age of about 13, from my first album; Shaggy – Hot Shot, which I am not the least bit ashamed of, to my current taste which is, Indie, Rock and anything Alternative, but I am also partial to a bit of Dance and Guitar music. I have seen countless bands and love to talk about it to anyone who will listen! I’m a bit of a gamer, and spend a lot of time at home on my beloved Xbox 360. I love films and television, I’m a big thriller fan and watch a huge variety of programs, ask me about them! Home Alone is probably my favourite film of all time, mainly because I just want to be left in that situation, how mint would that be?!

Anyway, I love forward to meeting you all throughout the year, it will be fun times!

Take care and see you soon,

Dave.

Hey guys!

Well you guys were awesome! I had so much fun, it was great to be able to see both groups working away and really getting on. Although I was working with Holy Trinity, who were awesome! I also loved the opportunity to get to know you guys from Mount St Mary as wel, you were a great laugh and I particularly liked socializing with both groups of people on the walk and in breaks! It’s been a weekend full of laughter and fun and I hope you take that back home with you!

Easy guys,

Well what a really good weekend this turned out to be, I really loved how you just went for everything and how enthusiastic you were! My small group were awesome so a big up to them for that, as we had loads of fun but also did really well on Morning Prayer and other activities we completed during the week like the posters, ours were clearly the best! Everyone else’s posters looked amazing in mass, and it turned out to be a great celebration for everybody, and the singing was awesome again!  Nice one for a great weekend!

Although I was floating for the few days you were here I really enjoyed getting you know you guys at mealtimes and on the walk! It was a great few days, and your group leaders obviously loved having small groups and I wish I had one! You really did put your all into everything and the singing in mass was amazing, the role-plays and prayers were also really nice to see. Your friends looked really good, possibly some of the finest I’ve seen in my time here!

Well guys for saying it was the first time there was an upper school split retreat it was amazing to see how you all got on with each other! The way you went for the activity on the first night was really good to see as you just threw yourselves straight into the swing of things.

It was great to see old faces both staff and students from the Year 11 trip, and awesome to hear how you guys were getting on, not forgetting; ‘a bit of banter.’ It was also well good to meet new people and get to know you guys over the weekend.

Mass was a great celebration and you definetly impressed our parishioners! It topped off a great day (for the Derby fans amongst us) after listening to the Mighty Rams defeat the lowly Forest! Sorry just had to throw that one in there!

Overall it was a really fun weekend and I loved every minute of it!

Take care,

Dave

Easy guys,

Well I got really excited for this week, I’m not going to lie, because it was my old school! And I was not disappointed, you guys represented Benedict’s really well and I was well proud!

It was such a fun week full of laughter and fun, especially in our small group time, big shout out to; ‘the Nigelettes’ you guys were awesome and we had some great chats, and you did so well in the mass roleplay!

Reconciliation was really good, and the reflections were very thought reflecting so well done to everybody on that one. Mass was an awesome celebration and the sound you guys made was so so good.

Bowling was big time! I absolutely loved it, especially managing to get a decent score for the first time in ages, but unfortunately I didn’t come close to Miss O’Hanlon’s score! That was legendary!

Well guys it was an awesome week and I had loads of fun and I hope you guys did too!

Good luck in Year 9,

Peace

Well what an awesome week we spent together! It was well fun and I had so many laughs. I loved how you guys went for everything straight away which was shown by how awesome the ‘Equestrian of Sport’ was on the first night. Everyone knows our horse was the best, and the formation we pulled out for the last with the splits was amazing!

The men versus woman session was awesome, and the questions the lads were fielding to me, Don and Joe and the discussions we had was amazing. So big up on that! Big shout out to my small group, I absolutely loved spending time with you guys, we had so many laughs and the discussion we had in the sharing sheet was so good to see and hear!

The week was so good as you guys really made the most of it so thankyou!

God Bless,

Easyyyyy everybody!

Man, what an awesome week we had together! It was so good to see two schools, who had no clue about each other at the beginning of the week mix so well together! Big up to my small group; “Whats cooler than being cool?…ICE COLD!”, possibly one of the finest group names ever. You guys were amazing in small group time, from discussions to role-plays you  gave your all, but we always had so many laughs!

I particularly enjoyed the debating session, as you guys got really into it, and it was great to see people standing up for what they believed passionately but respectfully. Reconciliation created an amazing atmosphere and all the groups did amazingly well. Also, drum and bass in disco…not much more needs to be said, quality! I also really enjoyed the walk, and the advantage of the being at the back lobbing snowballs and people can’t see! Apologies if you were hit…

Any who, well done for making it an absolutely awesome week and a great start to 2010! Good luck with your future and I hope to see you again sometime.

Peace out,

Dave
