We are now taking applications for young people 16 – 18 (years 11 – 13) who are not in a Catholic school but want to go on our Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes. This is a great opportunity to celebrate our faith and serve members of our diocesan family on pilgrimage.

October the 9-12th saw the biggest ever reunion of past and present Briars team members. In part of a series of events to mark the 40th Anniversary of The Briars over 150 people dropped in at some point to make this weekend a truly memorable celebration.
As part of the visit of St Therese’s relics to our cathedral in Nottingham, the Youth Service led an All Night Vigil. Starting at 11.00 on Monday 5th October and finishing the next morning with Mass at 6.30, it was split into three parts, each focussing on a different aspect of St Therese’s spirituality.

My name is Conor. I’m 19 years old and I’m from an amazing place called Derby! Well…….almost amazing, maybe not as good as Crich!
In my family I have one sister, one brother, one father and one mother, together we all share one love!
I went to St.Benedicts secondary school with Dave and Eleanor. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there, the good times and the bad!
When chilling out you will usually find me either jamming on my decks, watching a movie, beating Don on the Xbox or sleeping.
I am abit of a film fanatic with a collection of just over 140 DVDs back at home, however they are mostly big, rough, tough action films, you won’t find any romance or drama there!
My favourite movie without a doubt would have to be Batman: The Dark Knight. It’s Sick!
My ideal type of music is Drum and Bass or Dubstep however Reggae, Hip-Hop, Funk, Grime and Indie are the other genres which clog up my iPod.
The best band I have seen live are definitely my friends band, What Makes You Beautiful (WMYB), you should check them out on myspace, they’re awesome!
I’m excited about the upcoming year and I look forward to seeing you all up here soon!

Many funny moments surrounded the weekend, makes me laugh now just thinking about them. You guys were all very friendly and easy to talk to something I proper respect, cheers for being great yo!

Well what another fun week it has been! It’s always good fun when SJH turn up!
Big shout out to myself and Clare’s small group ‘Green Gang Gardeners Gnomes’, you guys were brilliant, never failing to make me laugh and getting involved with everything we did.
Was loving the Bowling on Wednesday and the Bee session on Thursday, even though things got very complicated trying to work out how many bees we had! Haha.

These last few days have been great fun!! I’ve really enjoyed having both groups coming up this week, you were all so amazing! All of you guys were full of energy and enthusiasm, getting stuck into whatever we did making everything pure jokes. I’ve loved it all.

This weekend has been brilliant; it has been great seeing old and new faces. Big shout-out to my small group ‘The Cosmos Cronies’ you guys were sound, very chilled out and relaxed but got down and made the best of this weekend.

Well you know it’s going to be a fun week when your own school comes up, so I was very excited about this week. We’ve got up to all kinds of stuff this week, full of fun and excitement. Was loving my small group ‘BANG…and the dirt is gone!’ this week, you guys were always willing to have a laugh something which I appreciated. You always got stuck into every challenge we got set as well, it was brilliant to see!
So much was squeezed into this week, highlights included Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus session and getting battered by all you ladies in bowling.
Thank you for coming up and being brilliant guys, you made our school proud

It was great meeting you guys for those two days I got to see you, unfortunately I was suffering from some kind of bug so I spent the rest of the week back at home in bed. I only wish I could have stayed at the Briars for the rest of the week and get to know you all better!!

What a SUPER weekend it has been, it’s been great fun. The whole weekend has been superhero themed, which means that it has been right up my alley! My group ‘Cream Team’ were great, always getting involved in what we doing, big ups on that!
