Services and Programmes

We offer a wide range of services all of which can be catered to your specific needs.

Below are some examples of the work we have done around the diocese. These should give you an insight into our work, and maybe some ideas about how we could work with your parish or school.

If you want any more information on any of the work we have done, then please get in touch with us.

CONFIRMATION

St Bernadettes, Scunthorpe:

We hosted a day retreat at the Briars, That focused on team building and developing a better understanding of the sacrament of reconcilliation. The morning session was based around a selection of trust games in a round robin fashion. A reconciliation service was followed up by an afternoon of artwork using ashes from a fire created earlier.

St Peter & Pauls, Earl Shilton:

The style of programme we used here has proved very popular with parishes all over the Diocese. It runs from lunchtime on a Saturday into the parish vigil mass with mass parts such as Intercessions and the Gospel prepared and led by the young people. This particular programme was based around the latest Cafod project – LiveSimply.

Sacred Heart, Carlton:

Reach4 wrote and delivered the entire confirmation programme alongside the parish catechists – 6 evening sessions over as many weeks ending with their Confirmation mass, with music led by the Team and the parish folk group. The sessions covered every aspect of confirmation including Parish Community, the Trinity and Gifts of the Holy Spirit.

YOUTH GROUP SUPPORT

St Georges, Derby:

Reach4 worked with the youth group for one meeting, an evening session, to deliver a theme-based programme. The date was 14th February, Valentine’s day, so with a variety of games and activities we focused on love and friendship.

St Philip Neri, Mansfield:

Again a very popular choice for parish youth groups. Again working with a group from Saturday lunchtime and finishing with parish mass, we used activities based on LiveSimply to launch the latest Cafod project within the parish.

SECONDARY SCHOOLS

We approach each secondary school we work with on an individual basis depending on what the school requires. We range from whole school missions, working every day with a different year or house to individual sessions such as an hour-long act of worship or writing liturgies with a chaplaincy group. Below are some examples of services we have previously provided.

St Bedes, Scunthorpe:

The school had recently changed to vertical forming so reach4 were called in for a week-long whole school mission where we led the young people in activities based on teamwork and communication to help each form come together as a group. We worked with one house each day which ended in mass at the local parish church with each mass part led by one of the forms.

DeLisle, Loughborough:

We have helped form two chaplaincy groups within the school, one group of Year 10s and one of Year 12s, with whom we work once a month helping them to write and deliver acts of worship for the whole school and training them in peer ministry and how to work with small and large groups. Both groups have subsequently prepared and led their own liturgies as a result of this training. To support the chaplaincy groups in liturgies we also created a liturgical music group to lead music within the liturgies and to reinvigorate music throughout the school with modern hymns and songs. We also do one act of worship or mass with Year 7s at the end of each R.E. module to celebrate and to summarise the work they have completed.

PRIMARY SCHOOLS

St Mary’s, Chesterfield:

We focused this retreat day on the themes of “teamwork” and “respecting each others differences” using input from James and the Giant Peach we led into a creative session where the young people created a giant peach with seagulls that had the young people’s personal qualities written on.

St Joseph’s, Matlock:

We traveled to St Joseph’s to help the Year 6s celebrate prayer and interpret scripture. The Year 6 teacher asked us to help them come up with an idea of something visual for the young people to focus on during prayer time. So, as part of their morning activity, they fashioned a prayer tree which incorporated smell and sound to help create an entirely new atmosphere for prayer in the classroom.
