On Friday 11th June, over 180 keen golfers gathered at Chevin Golf Club, Duffield to compete in the 25th Briars Am-Am.
'LIVE IT' are a series of events taking place all across the Nottingham Diocese. They are a chance for young people in different areas to meet each other to share and celebrate their faith. This is the story so far....
Held again this year at the Moorways Centre in Derby, we saw our biggest ever turn out! This year saw around a thousand year 6s from all over the diocese gathered together to reflect on taking the big step up to secondary school.

October the 9-12th saw the biggest ever reunion of past and present Briars team members. In part of a series of events to mark the 40th Anniversary of The Briars over 150 people dropped in at some point to make this weekend a truly memorable celebration.
As part of the visit of St Therese’s relics to our cathedral in Nottingham, the Youth Service led an All Night Vigil. Starting at 11.00 on Monday 5th October and finishing the next morning with Mass at 6.30, it was split into three parts, each focussing on a different aspect of St Therese’s spirituality.

What a great couple of days, it was great to see you all get stuck in especially coming up with loads of ideas for your assembly, I hope that all goes well because it looks amazing. The talent show and disco was amazing and I really enjoyed it and I’m sure you did.

Hey guys, I had a really good laugh with you these few days, it’s a shame you didn’t stay longer. You had a lot of energy and managed to be up for all the jam packed activities we did, especially on Saturday. I thought all your assembly prep stuff was amazing and you put in a lot of hard work and effort. Also mass and the dance acts were fab so well done guys it was all amazing! Take care

I really enjoyed the few days you’d stayed and only wished you’d been here longer. I absolutely loved all you’re energy and enthusiasm for everything we did, and I especially loved the role plays my group did, I thought they were hilarious! I also loved the dance act I helped with to Single Ladies, I didn’t stop laughing. Overall it was a great retreat and I hope you all loved it as much as I did. Thanks for a great few days

You guys were the first Lent day we led and it definitely was an amazing way to start! You were all full of so much energy and threw yourselves into everything which meant we had a lot of fun and everyone got so much out of the day.
We loved playing all the games with all of you that helped us think about the three ways we can prepare for lent (fasting, prayer and almsgiving)… especially the game with the beanbags!
Well done to everyone for your parts in the Liturgy in the afternoon, it was awesome.
Good luck with all the stuff you gave up and sticking to the promises you made and had all those beautiful photos with.

Today was AMAZING! It was so good to see so many familiar faces and it felt like we were at home and had never left after our mission week in September 2009.
Thanks for all the hard work all of you who we worked with put into the day..you were all awesome!
We had so much fun planning the lent day with the Year 11′s that you will be leading, your ideas were amazing and it looks as if the day will be great for the Year 6′s . You guys are simply amazing!
The chaplaincy training we had with the Year 10s was great and we were well impressed that you all managed to learn so much in such a short space of time, and now you’re all experts!
The liturgy in the afternoon was fantastic and so inspiring to see the Year 10′s and 11′s completely lead it..you all did so well with the different parts you prepared.
Looking forward to seeing you all again!

Yoyoyoyo people! What a great weekend it has been! I’ve proper enjoyed myself!
I’ve been working with Holy Trinity, preparing you guys for your confirmation and we’ve had some really good times in the mean time. Big, Big, Big shout out to my small group ‘Conors Cool Crew are Coolio!’ you were some really siiick peeps! Was loving our drama in Mass about the race, brilliant!! I only wish that you guys could have stayed abit longer!

These last few days have been great fun!! I’ve really enjoyed having both groups coming up this week, you were all so amazing! All of you guys were full of energy and enthusiasm, getting stuck into whatever we did making everything pure jokes. I’ve loved it all.
