The tans have faded, the Barbie meat has been eaten and the didgeridoos have been played ‘till the neighbours have complained. Yes, the pilgrims from our diocese who went to World Youth Day in Sydney are well and truly back and here you can read about the pilgrimage and see some of the photos we took.
Read below for reflections from Ian, one of the pilgrims and an account of the trip.

Well it’s finally here, the last day, and what a day we had!
We started with an awesome assembly, and managed to make out human drum kit even better!
It was then the turn of the year 8’s who were full of enthusiasm, even though they had to wait untill last!
One thing that was definitly worth the wait was the singing – where did that come from?! It was some of the best singing all week; we were amazed!
After a packed day we went out on a high by singing again for the last time this mission.
All we can say is bring on Scotland!
Thankyou to alkthe people that made this possible, especially Mrs Hewer and Ms Hurdman, it’s Bren a truly memorable week
(photos will be online soon!)
So today is the last day, and it has gone so quickly. Our final group were the year 8’s and i tell you what, the best singers were saved until last. this morning we lifted the roof with the energy and enthusiasm of everbody, it really did send our mission week out with a bang.
However our day started with all the parts of our school body coming together in assembly and rounding it all off with an awesome drum roll and some amazing dancing/singing/having fun with go out in the world.
With the final day begining we really kicked off in style and were on a high before lunch, after lunch we took the mood back down to finish off the week with our final liturgy and everything seemed to just fit in.
I think we can say we have enjoyed this week just as much as everybody else and we really can’t wait to start planning Scotland, time to go home and time to get thinking!
